Scuba Diving
fromEvery morning weather dependant we run a 2 tank guided dive trip of off Ocean Quest our 36ft sailing catamaran. Depending on the weather our first dive is normally a reef dive followed by a kelp forest dive. Divers can see our stunning local coral and fish life sometimes even being accompanied by the occasional curious seal.

Once divers are back onboard, we give them the opportunity to regain their body temperature and energy, with options of coffee, tea, soft drinks and bottled water. This can be enjoyed while Ocean Quest pulls anchor and moves to the next dive site. Our second dive site is normally a kelp forest dive, besides kelp forests being shallower than our reef dives it also offers safe anchorage for Ocean Quest allowing passengers to swim or snorkel. Our kelp forests are an attraction on their own, they are also home to different small shark species like the pyjama and shy shark. Often, we also see plenty of macro life on our kelp forest dives that our dive guide will point out. Once everyone is back onboard, we will return to the harbour where divers can rinse any of their personal gear and have their log books stamped. We take no more than 6 divers per trip to keep dive trips personal and give maximum attention to our divers.
If bigger groups want to come onboard this can be arranged via special request. Our aim is to make dives as relaxing and effortless as possible for our clients. You will always find a dive guide or crew member at hand to help with whatever is needed.
Between September to February Hermanus is prone to South Easterly winds, this unfortunately limits visibility to 3 to 6 metres, if the visibility decreases from 3 metres or less we postpone all dive trips until conditions improve. From March until October we experience strong North Westerly wind, this drastically improves our dive sites visibility, anchoring conditions and water temperature, diving days in these months are also more frequent.
PLEASE NOTE: Passengers pay a fee of R350pp for the duration of the trip.
Snorkelling can be pre-arranged at a fee of R600pp, subject to availability.
