The Hermanus Art Circle (HAC) originated from the Vermont Art Circle in 2003 which expanded with numerous members from all over the Overberg, calling for a more inclusive name, the Hermanus Art Circle.
HAC currently exhibits every first Friday of the month in the Auditorium next to the Whale Museum and participate in FynArts during June. During December
HAC support local charities by producing A5 paintings to be sold at A Night of a Thousand Drawings @ R100 each.
HAC proudly offers the public excellent artwork from various artists in the area at the most reasonable prices.
The aims and objectives of the HAC are:
- To bring together not more than 30 like-minded artists for the purpose of improving their social and artistic experience through offering member events and activities.
- To provide an opportunity for HAC to represent and actively participate as part of a formal art structure.
- To exhibit and sell personal artworks and show on a regular basis
- To get involved in promoting art in the greater Overberg region and establishing Hermanus and the Overberg as an Art Hub.
- To co-operate with any other society, having objectives like those of the HAC
