Fisherhaven Travellers Lodge is near the Bot River estuary in Fisherhaven and centrally situated for the traveler wishing to explore many of the Overberg attractions. This small tranquil area is on the whale coast route, a suburb of the famous whale-watching town, Hermanus. Fisherhaven is privileged to be the home of a herd of wild Rooisand horses. These are the only wild wetland horses in South Africa. We are 92 kilometres from Cape Town Airport and 15 km west of the centre of Hermanus.

The lodge is not pet friendly.

There are a total of 4 non-smoking rooms.  

All rooms are situated upstairs.

There is emergency lighting during load-shedding.

*The N1 and N2 ensuite rooms have a double bed (an electric warmer blanket in winter months, mosquito net over double ), a single bed, cupboard hair dryer, shower, toilet and basin, a wall panel heater and a standing fan, TV – Full DStv channels, mini fridge and tea- and coffee-making facilities.

*The R43 en-suite has a double bed with two bedside tables, a fan,mosquito net,hairdryer, table& chair, a mirror, a cupboard, and an en-suite shower. This room is only bookable for single guest.

*The Family Suite unit has two rooms: Room one has a double bed (mosquito net , an electric warmer blanket in winter months), flat screen TV and USB port – full DStv channels, fan, heater, hair dryer, mini fridge and a tea and coffee making facility. Room two has two single beds. This unit has a bathroom with a corner bath/shower and basin and another room with a toilet and basin. This unit is suitable for max of 3 adults

The lodge offers breakfast on request at an additional charge, free wifi, which is still available during load-shedding, secure onsite parking, a shaded garden and various sitting areas, an indoor swimming pool, indoor braai facility available on request up until 22:00pm

All our guests have access to the guest lounge/ fully equipped kitchen with a toaster, kettle, fridge, an induction heating plate, microwave, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery and a six-seat dining table.

To coincide with the peaceful ambience of the area, privacy and safety of guests we regret that we do not accommodate guest visitors (non-paying guests), large group bookings, or any form of parties.

There are many places to visit and things to do in and around Hermanus and the greater Overberg: whale watching,shark cage diving, wine tasting, bird watching, horse riding, trail running, mountain cycling, wind surfing, sea kayaking, adventure fat bike tours and awesome sunset walks. There are interesting rock pools and good swimming spots nearby with endless sandy beaches: Grotto Beach, Onrus, Sandbaai, Kleinmond and Hawston Beaches.
